A smile is so important; it tells everyone you are happy, confident and ready to get on and enjoy life.
Choosing a denture that looks like your own natural teeth will make a world of difference to you. Nowadays it is no longer necessary for dentures to look false. At Pure Dental Centre our aim is to provide our patients with highly attractive and cosmetic dentures, allowing you to look good, whilst feeling confident and attractive.
We realise it is impossible to overstate the importance of dentures to the wearer, yet they remain one of the most challenging aspects of modern dentistry. Each denture is a bespoke item, crafted to fit your own individual needs. Not only should they fit well and be comfortable, they should look and feel like natural teeth.
Your clinician will plan your new set of dentures with meticulous attention to detail and any information you can provide is essential to this process. Some of the questions we will ask are shown below. You may want to consider them before going into surgery.
· What are the problems with your current dentures? Make a wish list!
· What improvements would you like, if possible?
· Are you happy with the size, colour, shape and position of your teeth?
· Can you speak clearly with your current set?
· What do you like about your present dentures?
The denture is made using manufactured teeth in a range of shades and shapes that your clinician will help you choose. These are then skilfully processed into an acrylic base that is made to fit the anatomy of your own mouth.
Full upper dentures are mainly kept in position by suction, whereas the lower denture is kept in place by your gums and muscles. Denture wearers therefore often have trouble with their lower dentures. It takes time getting used to new dentures and they often need several adjustments. We will expect to see you for this after your initial fitting. Always discuss any concerns you have and don’t feel you are being a nuisance.
Please ask about Implant Retained Dentures, we will be happy to assess your suitability.
Remember our aim is a happy patient!
